Is PlayoffBlitz a one-and-done league?
Yes. One and done is the standard name for this format: pick any lineup you like each week, but each player can only be used once. Most one-and-done leagues only run during the NFL playoffs. PlayoffBlitz runs during the regular season as well: two separate games for two seasons of fun. The whole week is walked through on the rules page.
Do I have to draft?
No. There is no draft in PlayoffBlitz. That's the whole point. Nobody owns any players, so every player in the pool is available to every member, every week, unless of course you've already used that player. No draft night to schedule, no draft position to complain about. You just set a lineup. Why that changes the game is covered on the rules page.
Why pay for this when other fantasy football is free?
Because it's a different game, not a cheaper one. Standard fantasy football is free and very good at what it does, but it limits how many people can play, everybody has to turn up for a draft, and you spend the season working the waiver wire to keep a legal roster. PlayoffBlitz drops all three. No draft, no add-drops, no member cap, so the whole office can play if they want to. It's simple: just log in, look at who is available, pick the eight players you think will score the most, and that's it, simple as that. The reasoning behind the fee is on the pricing page.
How many members can join my league?
As many as you like. Every PlayoffBlitz league has unlimited members, and members join free. The commissioner pays one fee for the whole league. Everything else that comes with a league is on the pricing page.
Who pays for a league?
The commissioner pays once for the league, and everybody else joins free. No per-member charges, and the league fee itself is a one-time charge rather than a subscription. Individual members can separately choose to upgrade themselves to Pro+ for player data and projections, but nobody has to. Billing is set out in full on the pricing page.
Do you have live scoring?
Yes. Scores update live while the games are being played, so you can watch your players earn points as they dominate the field. See where every point comes from on the points page.
What is the Pro Bowl?
The Pro Bowl is our public league. It lets you compare your skills against every other member on PlayoffBlitz, not only your own league. Winning the Pro Bowl means you're the champion of the world. You can also join the Pro Bowl on its own if you don't have a league to play in. Full Pro Bowl detail is on the pricing page.
Can I change the rules of my league?
Nope! We don't allow any modifications at this point. Unlike the regular season, where your draft position and the number of teams change your strategy, in this format all players are available to everyone, so the points at different positions matter far less than picking the right players on the right weeks. Can the commissioner set a lineup for a league member?
You bet your sweet bippy. Commissioners have a tool for setting a lineup on behalf of a member who hasn't set their own. A commissioner-set lineup is marked, so everyone can see it wasn't set by the member.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes. PlayoffBlitz is free on iPhone and Android and uses the same account as the website. Set lineups, follow live scoring and talk smack from anywhere. Download it from the home page.
